7 Batam Golf Courses Short Review
1. Batam Hills Golf
Formerly called Paradise Bay, Batam Hills golf course is shedding its past reputation as a poorly maintained course to one that has been majorly refurbished and under new ownership. The course is located near the Waterfront City area of Batam, which is on the northwestern side of the island. The front-nine is laid out through a jungle environment, providing undulating and tree-lined fairways. The more open and less hilly back-nine will continue to challenge your game – that is if you are up for it? However, we would suggest the better holes can be found on the front-nine.
The course, which is exclusively designed by Max Wexler, with 18 holes par 72 and a course length of just over 6,000m, meets the needs of all golfers including experienced and novice, it is designed to challenge the needs and expectations of both low handicapped golfers as well as high handicapped players. . Enjoy the lush greenery and enjoy the new look and quality.
2. Padang Golf Sukajadi
Padang Golf Sukajadi Batam is the latest and only golf course which is in the middle of the prestigious, fully-integrated Sukajadi business and residential estate in Batam. Come and experience it!
It is also the international standard championship course originally designed and created by reputed golf course designer Thomson, Wolveridge & Perret. The course, which is located in the centre of Batam City, is easily accessible from Batam’s Central Business District.
3. Indah Puri

Covering 3,000 acres of stunning scenery, the course is nestled amidst lush greenery and ringed by azure blue waters.
Each of the 18 holes of the championship course is distinctive and individual with its own special character for added challenge. It has 18 superb greens and fairways that hug one of the most beautiful terrains on Batam Island. Running parallel with the beach one moment, dog-legging scenic lakes and bunkers the next, the course spreads over 6,085m of manicured landscape and waiting for you to play on it. Need to practice a few putts before hitting the course? No problem, there is a driving range just for you.
4. Palm Springs
Discover Palm Springs’ 27-hole golf course with its magnificent views. The course has three outstanding nine-hole layouts – Island Course, Resort Course and Palm Course. You can choose your own combination of 18 holes from the three courses to make up one round of golf. Or you can simply play 27 holes at one go.
You’ll enjoy playing between sculpted fairways and gently sloping grassy depressions with breathtaking ocean views from the green. The course, which was designed by Larry Nelson and IMG, was originally carved out of a mangrove swamp. Of the three nine-hole courses, the toughest and oldest is the Palm Course. The view from the signature six-hole is breathtaking and on a clear day, you can see the sea and the islands off the beach from the tee. The course is particularly forgiving for the high handicappers and yet challenging for the pros when played from the championship tees, but don’t go take our word for it. Play it yourself!
5. Southlink Golf
Play your best golf at SouthLinks Golf Course, which is 18 holes, par 72. Designed by Japan’s renowned Hisamitsu Ohnishi, who has imprinted his work at Cypress Golf Club and Takamaki Country Club, there are two signature holes to watch out for. In hole six, your drive needs to carry more than 200m to clear the water that runs the entire length of the left side of the fairway. However, keep a close eye on the narrow fairway hemmed in between the water and the fairway bunker on the right as you approach the green.
Hole four, par three is another hole that can be deceiving. A large steep bunker guards the front centre of the green and on its left, there is a pretty waterfall. It does not pay to overshoot the green as the fast hard green does not bite and overshooting it will leave you in a tough spot. Cool your temperament by taking in the breathtaking and lush sceneries as the course is located near the sea.
6. Tamarin Santana Golf
This 9-hole, par 36 course is a tough test for the beginner to experienced golfer. Designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus, Tamarin Santana is defended by strategically placed bunkers and let’s not forget, the contoured greens.
