The Bukit Indah Sukajadi development, located in the centre of Batam Island is a purpose built residential & business area of some 200 hectares of land & is home to the newly opened Padang Golf Sukajadi. The course which opened early in 2009 was originally designed by reputed golf architechts Thomson, Wolveridge & Perret and has recently been altered to suit the latest developments at Sukajadi by PT. Flora Tjipta Sarana.It has 18 holes par 72 golf course. This golf course is one of the newest golf courses in Batam. In addition to the steep slopes, there are water traps that make shots tricky even for advanced players.
So far the course has 9 good fairways & greens that run alongside a large hill in the centre of Batam providing a varied assortment of holes & challenges for all grades of golfers. Some features include the long & narrow par 5 first with strategically placed fairway bunkers, water hazards to the right & behind the green plus O.B. all the way along the left. The other par 5 sixth has a deceptively long tee shot over water espescially from the black tees & then another 2 shots uphill could provide a chance for birdie, for the long hitters both the 1st & 2nd shots would need to be perfect to hit the green and set up an eagle chance.
For high handicapped players the course will reward the thinking player who chooses his or her shots carefully & avoids the numerous hazards. Low hadicapped players will relish the numerous oportunites to get birdies, but beware loose shots will cost you dearly.
