Montigo Resort Batam Review
Over the weekend, I paid a visit to Montigo Resorts in Batam on a personal trip, and simply needed to do a quick post on the place before I forget – the place is simply wonderful even though they’re not fully open yet!
Simply try the welcoming view from the foyer…the resort is made up of three varieties of villas with delicate differences – Hill Side Villa, Hill Top Pool Villa and Spa Villa (I reckon you possibly can more or less tell what the differences are from the names!)
There was a cold towel and welcome lemongrass drink to enjoy while we had been checking in…even for those who do not communicate Bahasa Indonesia, no worries because the staff are decently proficient in English. The standard of service is sort of equal to that of Membership Med in Bintan, which is actually saying something.
The resort is set into a hillside, so a fair quantity of walking is required – prolonged exploration of the resort is not advisable for old people or these with young children, although journey can easily be taken care of by the numerous buggies servicing the resort.
The ground floor consisted of a spacious lounge full with kitchen amenities and even a Wii…the day beds were so comfortable, you will even fell asleep there!
And oh, the villa pool…it is not huge, however most enjoyable – you solely have to open the lounge sliding doorways, take 2 steps and climb straight into the pool.
The second ground was made up of the two bedrooms with attached bathrooms – the{master room (which I obtained) has a 4 poster mattress, whereas the second room has two single beds…take my word for it, when you sink into the mattress and the pillows, you will not wish to budge!
Lavatory, The stone bathtub is right below a skylight, and came with a nice packet of bathtub salts…too bad I did not have time to soak in there! There’s also an individually partitioned bathe stall and toilet if you have to share the toilet with someone.
One other awesome touch – double sinks! No need to queue or struggle for sink area within the morning…big plus point for me.
I hadn’t heard about Malin + Goetz earlier than this, however after a fast Google search (doncha just love instant info at your fingertips?) I found out they’re an apothecary based in New York. They have probably the most wonderful smelling toiletries – rum soap, cilantro body wash, peppermint shampoo…you’ll be able to simply imagine those beautiful scents, can’t you?
The restaurant is the one bit that appeared extra paying homage to Indonesian design, but by some means I liked it – slightly bit rustic with fashionable components weaved in.
Lookup! I had to give two thumbs up to the resort’s consideration for nature…instead of demolishing the complete area; they made concessions round some of the bushes which I believed was a small step in the fitting direction.
From an eco-friendly perspective, the resort also made the hassle to preserve as much vitality as attainable – the widespread areas of the resort are principally white with ethereal ceilings and fans, whereas on the villas only the required areas such as bedrooms and front room are air conditioned (the staircase as much as each floor is ventilated from the skin).
For individuals who can’t utterly disconnect from the internet however but don’t wish to pay hefty roaming charges, you may be most delighted to know that Montigo Resorts has free Wi-fi all through the entire resort (personally tested, they’ve awesomely fast speeds and regular sign!) – are you jumping for joy but? This resort already official launching in March 2013.
